King Mohammed Vi received the Archbishop of Rabat

Here follows a statement by the Royal Office:

“His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, Commander of the Faithful, received, today 22 January 2020, at the Rabat Royal Palace, Cardinal Cristobal Lopez Romero, Archbishop of Rabat.

On the occasion of this Royal Audience, Cardinal Cristobal Lopez Romero expressed to the Commander of the Faithful his heartfelt thanks for the Very High benevolence shown by the Sovereign in sending a High-level delegation to represent His Majesty the King at the consistory of 5 October 2019 in the Vatican, during which Pope Francis elevate the Archbishop of Rabat to the dignity of Cardinal.

This Royal Audience is part of the spirit of co-knowledge celebrated by the Commander of the Faithful and the Sovereign Pontiff during the historic visit of Pope Francis to Morocco on 30-31 March 2019”.
