Ivanka Trump to Visit Morocco in November
Ivanka Trump, daughter and senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, will visit Morocco in early November.
The visit will focus in particular on promoting her Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative, according to US media reports, citing the White House.
“The Kingdom of Morocco is a valuable ally of the United States that has made significant progress, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, in promoting gender equality,” Ivanka Trump told the Associated Press.
Last August, she welcomed Morocco’s adoption of a new legislative framework for Soulaliyate lands that would provide greater equality and openness to investment, particularly for women.
“We praise the Moroccan government for this important step,” Ivanka Trump wrote on Twitter, adding: “We look forward to supporting its full implementation.
Ivanka Trump, who will be accompanied by Sean Cairncross, CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, will have a series of meetings in Rabat and Casablanca, focusing on women’s economic empowerment.
Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative is a program led by Ivanka Trump with the aim of helping to empower women economically. It has a budget of $50 million, provided by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
