Bank Al-Maghrib, Egypt’s Central Bank Sign MoU

Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) and the Central Bank of Egypt signed, recently in Washington, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) covering the areas of banking supervision, exchange of information, and general cooperation.

The memorandum was ratified Friday by Governor of Bank Al-Maghrib Abdellatif Jouahri and the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tareq Amer, on the sidelines of the 2019 International Monetary Fund and World Bank annual meetings held in Washington on Oct. 14-20, said Bank Al-Maghrib in a statement.

This MoU reflects the desire shared by the two central banks to further enhance experience-sharing, and seeks to set up a formal framework to maintain stronger bilateral relationships, cooperation and partnership between the two institutions, it added.
