3rd Annual WIA Initiative Summit Kicks off in Marrakech

The third annual Women in Africa (WIA) Summit opened Thursday in Marrakech, with the participation of nearly 500 people from 75 countries. The two-day event is held under the high patronage of HM King Mohammed VI on the theme “How do African women engage the world and create a new paradigm?”.

The Summit includes discussions on several topics, including “Africa-Europe Focus: Change the game of our future relations”, “Africa-Asia Dynamics”, “Africa-US Focus: Engaging America in a new relationship with a more visible Africa” and “Science: African Women agents of change”. The Women in Africa (WIA) initiative is an international platform for economic development and mentoring of African women leaders with strong potential. Its ambitions are twofold: to unleash the potential of a new generation of African female leaders at all levels of civil and government responsibility, and to connect African and international women leaders in the pursuit of an innovative and inclusive Africa.

The World Summit in Marrakech is the annual highlight of the meetings convened by the Initiative. It brings together fresh local talents and the decision-makers who are committed to transforming the continent.
