Tangier: Judicial Inquiry Opened against Spaniard Suspected of Fraud and Harassment of Minor

The Tangier judicial police launched an investigation, on Tuesday, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office into charges brought against a 39-year-old Spaniard for his alleged involvement in a case of fraud and harassment of a minor.

In a statement, the national police (DGSN) say that the prefectural service of the Tangier judicial police received a complaint from two individuals, a Moroccan and a French, claiming to be victims of fraud by the suspect who had asked them for financial contributions of a social nature to an association, while giving them honorary certificates which are proven to be forged.

The suspect is also the subject of a complaint filed by a 20-year-old Moroccan national, who accuses him of rape in 2014 while he was still a minor residing in a charitable institution, according to the same source.

He was remanded in custody to complete the investigation led under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office in order to determine the ins and outs of this case, the statement added.
