Upon High Royal Instructions, Morocco Sends Emergency Humanitarian Aid to victims of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique

Upon HM King Mohammed VI’s instructions, the Kingdom of Morocco has sent emergency humanitarian aid to the victims of Cyclone Idai, which struck the Republic of Mozambique on March 14-15, 2019, causing significant human and material losses, said the ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The delivery of this 39-ton humanitarian aid, including tents, blankets and essential food items, is being provided by the Royal Armed Forces, the same source added in a statement.

This action is in response to the Mozambican authorities’ call for international assistance. It expresses the permanent solidarity of the Kingdom of Morocco with the populations of this African country bereaved by a particularly severe natural disaster, the ministry concluded.
