Police Arrest Three French Nationals, One of Algerian Origin, for Alleged Terror Financing & Links to Terrorist Organizations

National Judicial Police Brigade, in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested, Monday in Salé, three French nationals, one of whom is of Algerian origin, for their alleged involvement in terror financing and links with fighters of terrorist organizations, say the national police (DGSN).

The investigations carried out revealed that the suspects have manage to forge strong ties with some ISIS fighters in Syria and Iraq, in addition to their presumed involvement in raising funds for extremist groups to finance terrorist acts, the same source adds in a press release.

The people in question were held in police custody to complete the inquiry conducted under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office in charge of terrorism cases. Meanwhile, investigations are still ongoing to arrest their accomplices, and other individuals involved in this terrorist acts, and to identify possible connections between the suspects and any terrorist groups in Morocco and internationally, the police point out.
