Qatar investigates a fabricated picture of Mohammed VI

Director of the Qatari Government Communications Office Sheikh Saif bin Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani expressed his regret for the fabricated picture, which shows King Mohamed VI carrying a scarf during his visit in Doha.

He explained that this unacceptable act, will not succeed in thwarting the visit, adding that an investigation will be conducted to find out who tried to incite public opinion or to offend the symbols of the countries.

The king’s adviser, Yasser Znagui said in a statement relayed by the MAP News Agency that the sovereign has never been photographed carrying a scarf with a political message and that it is a photomontage.

Intelligence community: Gen-Kadiri in intensive care

General Kadiri is being hospitalised, since few days, at the Rabat Military Hospital.

Prior to his retirement in 2004, Kadiri had held several positions, including the head of foreign intelligence services (DGED).

He had been also Chief of the General Directorate of national security between 1981 and 1983 beside Driss Basri and was decorated with Wissam Al Arch by King Mohammed VI.

Morocco to train more than 1,200 foreign Imams in 2018

Mohammed VI Institute for the training of Imams will train 1,240 foreign Imams and Morchidines (Preachers) mainly from African countries, said the Minister of Islamic affairs, Ahmed Taoufiq.

He added that France will send 55 Imams, including 12 female Mourchidates, to be training in Morocco while the others will come from Mali, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Chad and Nigeria.

Mohammed VI Institute will also train 250 Moroccan Imams and Morchidines.

El Othmani fails to keep his General secretary

The head of the government, Saad Eddine El Othmani, spared no effort in vain to keep the general secretary of his ministry, Abdelouahed Fikrat, and to remove him from the list of 14 officials to be dismissed.

El Othmani has tried to persuade the high authorities that Fikrat had not any responsibility in Al Hoceima project problems, highlighting his seriousness and self-denial.

El Othmani’s efforts resulted in delaying the decision concerning the dismissal of the 14 administrative officials although the royal instructions regarding this matter were given on 24 October, a source says.

On the other hand, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Youssef Belkacemi, was held in office without having been defended by El Othmani.

Sahara : Farewell party for MINURSO’s chief in Laayoune

A farewell dinner was recently held in a hotel of Laayoune at the occasion of the departure of the chief of MINURSO the Canadian Kim Bloduc.

Kim Bloduc is considered to be close to the previous Personal Envoy of UN Secretary-General Christophe Ross, who was at the origin of a diplomatic crisis between Morocco and the UN.

Three years after her appointment as Chief of MINURSO by the former Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Bloduc is definitely leaving Morocco for Congo.

Attending Morocco’s World Cup matches will cost 950 dirhams

International federation of Football (FIFA) set ticket prices for the 1st round matches of the World Cup 2018 at 105 dollars (950 dirhams).

FIFA has defined 3 categories of tickets: 105 dollars, 165 dollars, and 210 dollars.

The tickets for the opening match will cost 220 dollars, 390 dollars and 550 dollars.

The prices will increase during the different phases of the competition. The tickets will cost $245 for the 16th and 8th finals, $365 for the quarter-finals, $750 for the semi-finals and $1100 for the matches of the final.
