Rising unemployment rate to 10.1 pc in Q3 2015
The unemployment rate at the national level has reached 10.1 pc in the third quarter 2015, against 9.6 pc over the same period of 2014, an increase of 0.5 points, according to the High Commission for Planning (HCP).
For its part, the rate of underemployment, increased by 0.7 points from 10.6% to 11.3% nationally. It went from 9.6% to 10.2% in urban areas and 11.6% to 12.3% in rural areas.
The unemployed labor force increased by 5.8 per cent nationally, from 1.14 million in Q3 2014 to 1,206,000 unemployed in the same period of 2015, 66,000 more people (52,000 in urban areas and 14,000 in rural areas), the HCP said in an information note on the situation of the labor market in the third quarter 2015.
