Casablanca: Three Individuals Arrested for Alleged Link To Active Network in International Drug Trafficking

Casablanca judicial police arrested, on Wednesday evening, three individuals, including a woman, for their alleged link to a criminal network active in international drug trafficking.

Aged between 19 and 46, the suspects were apprehended as part of the investigation carried out by the judicial police following the seizure by the customs services at the port of Casablanca of approximately 1 ton and 261 kilograms of chira, hidden in cargoes of zellige and mosaic on board two containers intended for export to Europe, said a statement by the National Police (DGSN).

The suspects were remanded in police custody for the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the possible ramifications of this network and to arrest all those involved in this criminal activity.

This case is part of the intense and joint security operations conducted by the national police and customs services to fight the international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic pills at the border crossings of the Kingdom, the statement concluded.
