Covid-19: Measures Decided in Casablanca Extended by 14 Days from Next Monday (Govt. Statement)

The government decided Thursday to extend the implementation of the measures decided in the prefecture of Casablanca last September 7, for a second additional period of 14 days from Monday, October 5.

This decision follows the conclusions of the regular monitoring and evaluation operations carried out by the monitoring and follow-up Committees of the Prefecture of Casablanca, and taking into account the recommendations of the specialized scientific Commission on the need to continue the necessary measures to deal with the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19), said a statement by the government.

During this period, stressed the government, the measures taken previously will be maintained except for educational institutions and institutes, which will open their doors from October 5 for a resumption of studies in all cycles and levels, in an in-person mode for learners whose tutors have opted for this kind of instruction.

The resumption of the studies will be done in compliance with the preventive measures decided upon, and by ensuring the continuous monitoring of the health situation in all these establishments, and the taking of the necessary measures according to the evolution of the epidemiological situation, the same source noted.

The government calls on citizens to continue to respect the directives of the public authorities and the necessary preventive measures, especially physical distancing, rules of hygiene and the obligation to wear a mask, the statement concluded.
