Spanish Government Approves Irrevocable Donation to Morocco of Gran Teatro Cervantes of Tangier

The Spanish Council of Ministers approved Tuesday an agreement on the irrevocable donation to Morocco of the Gran Teatro Cervantes of Tangier. Following this decision, the Protocol between Spain and Morocco for the irrevocable donation of the theater will be submitted to the two houses of the parliament for adoption, the Spanish government said in a release.

The donation responds to the offer of the Moroccan Government to restore and manage the theater in exchange for the transfer of its property and with the commitment to maintain the Spanish component in the cultural programming of the theater, the source added. The Gran Teatro Cervantes of Tangier was inaugurated in 1913.
