King Mohammed VI chaired a working session on the situation of the Moroccan citizens in the Chinese province of Wuhan

Here follows a statement by the Royal Office:

“HM King Mohammed VI chaired, today at the Royal Palace in Rabat, a working session on the situation of the Moroccan citizens in the Chinese province of Wuhan, quarantined by Chinese authorities because of the coronavirus.

HM the King gave his instructions for the repatriation of the hundred Moroccan nationals, mainly students, currently in this province. The Sovereign also ordered that the necessary measures be taken in terms of air transport, appropriate airports and specific health infrastructure.

HM the King also ordered the Head of Government and the different officials, each in his field of competence, to ensure adequate monitoring and coordination.

This working session was attended by Head of Government Saad Dine El Otmani, Advisor to HM the King Fouad Ali El Himma, Minister of the Interior Abdelouafi Laftit, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita, Minister of Health Khalid Ait Taleb and Lieutenant General Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie”.
