Director General of the National Airports Authority (ONDA), Zouhair Mohammed El Aoufir, was elected, on Wednesday in Accra, chairman of the Board of Directors of Airports Council International for the Africa Region (ACI Africa) for a three-year term. This election was endorsed by the Annual General Assembly, held on the sidelines of the 28th regional conference organized under the theme “The Role of technology and digital transformation in the airport sector”. Other ONDA officials were elected as permanent members representing the North African region on the various ICA Africa regional committees. This strong presence of ONDA in this African organization is the result of a strategy implemented for more than 5 years, focused on openness and cooperation with its African counterparts, says a statement by the National Airports Authority. Thus, several partnership agreements have been concluded in recent years with airport operators in Africa to exchange know-how, expertise in training, security, safety and airport operations, the same source adds.
