Morocco Ranked 2nd in Africa in Terms of 4G Availability

Morocco is the 2nd best performing country in terms of 4G availability in Africa, ahead of South Africa and Kenya, with a score of 77.2%, said British firm specializing in mobile data “OpenSignal” in its latest report. In this document, OpenSignal said that the Kingdom, which is ranked behind Senegal, is outperforming some of the more advanced markets in a field largely dominated by South Korea, Japan, and Norway on a global scale.

Regarding the bit rate, the report shows that Morocco is also among the African top 5 with 11.2 Mbps, behind Tunisia (13.4 Mbps) and South Africa ranked first in terms of Mobile data download speed with 15 Mbps.

According to the same source, the Kingdom is ahead of Egypt (8.6 Mbps) and Côte d’Ivoire (6.7 Mbps) in terms of download speed, as well as Nigeria, Senegal and Ghana with speed nearing 5 Mbps, while Algeria has an average download speed of only 3.1 Mbps.
