Morocco, ‘Exemplary’ Partner for Ireland: Speaker of Irish House of Commons

Morocco has all the assets to become an exemplary economic partner for Ireland, speaker of Irish House of Commons, Seán Ó Fearghaíl, said Tuesday in Rabat. Ireland seeks to open up to new economic partners, notably in Africa, Ó Fearghaíl told reporters following talks with speaker of House of Representatives (lower house), Habib El Malki.

He also praised the level of relations between Morocco and Ireland, adding that his country intends to develop its ties with the Kingdom in several areas, including tourism, agriculture and investments. For his part, El Malki underlined the importance of the Irish official’s visit in strengthening diplomatic relations as well as trade between the two countries.

The talks also focused on several economic issues, the fight against climate change and migration, he added.
