The King Mohammed VI received, at Rabat Royal Palace, Mohamed Bachir Rachdi whom the sovereign appointed president of the national authority for probity, prevention and fight against corruption

Here follows a statement by the royal office:

“HM King Mohammed VI received, on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 at Rabat Royal Palace, Mohamed Bachir Rachdi whom the sovereign appointed president of the national authority for probity, prevention and fight against corruption.

On this occasion, the sovereign stressed the importance he gives to the fight against corruption in all its forms, whether at the level of running public administrations and institutions and its impact on services for citizens, or the negative repercussions of this plague on the different sectors of the national economy and the achievement of a sustainable and balanced development.

HM the King gave his instructions to the new president to endeavor for the optimal implementation of the missions entrusted by the constitution to this national body, mainly concerning taking initiatives and coordinating, supervising, carrying out and overseeing anti-corruption policies, contributing to raising the moral standards of public life, upholding the principles of good governance, public service culture and general interest, as well as the values of responsible citizenship.

HM the King underlined the need for coordination, cooperation and pooling efforts with concerned national bodies, each in its field of expertise, for a collective mobilization, use of all tools of awareness-raising and legal means in order to combat this scourge in all its aspects, and apply the law against offenders.”
