Social unrest – Warning against a growing wave of protests in Morocco (Think Tank)

Times are changing. A new international report warned against the growing wave of protests in Morocco due to the current economic and social situation inside the country, which puts Morocco alongside Tunisia, Algeria and Jordan, amongst the list of countries likely to live potential unrest in the near future.

This new report, conducted by MENA Justice and Development studies Center, comes amid the growing pretests in a number of Moroccan cities. The same report indicated that the number of protests in Tunisia is most likely to grow, and consequently affect its neighboring countries, especially Morocco, Akhbar Al Yawm newspaper said.

The report has also pointed out that the economy in the said countries is probably the main factor behind these possible protests, especially that most of these countries suffer high rates of poverty, unemployment and corruption, as well as the erosion of the middle class.
