King Mohammed VI: The massive participation of the peoples of Western Sahara in the last elections is another democratic proof of their commitment to the territorial integrity of their country.
King Mohammed VI stressed last Friday that “massive participation” of the inhabitants of the provinces of the South in the elections is a “democratic proof of the commitment of the peoples of the Sahara to the territorial integrity and the political system of their country”.
“We have noted with pride the massive participation of the inhabitants of our southern provinces in the last elections. This is further democratic proof of the commitment of the people of Western Sahara to the territorial integrity and the political system of their country”, said the King, in a speech at the opening of the first session of the 5th legislative year of the 9th legislature.
For the King, this massive participation of the people of the provinces of the South in these elections also reflected “their commitment to effective inclusion in national institutions”.
In this regard, the Sovereign has stated that the popular and democratic legitimacy gained by elected officials-who have been chosen freely-made these, the true representatives of the populations of the Moroccan Sahara-unlike a minority that resides off-patrie and tries to illusory, and without the slightest legal basis-to proclaim itself representative of these populations.
